Hello 👋 I'm an Engineering Manager and mix of legacy-code tamer and therapist for developers on the edge.
My name is Claudio Caporro and, on paper, I'm an Engineering Manager.
In reality, I'm a mix of legacy-code tamer and therapist for developers on the edge, staring at a user story with no details while I explain to stakeholders why that bug isn't a bug — it's a "feature."
By day, I lead development teams at a business unit at TeamSystem. By night… well, I sleep (a little. AI FOMO is real, so I study)
I'm a master of Buzzword-Jitsu: I use AI for pretty much everything, even to generate plausible excuses when things go sideways. I spend my days convincing the team that AI tools aren't just a way to make someone else write your code — they're a superpower. We experiment, standardize, and share practices that move the dev role from code writer to solution designer.
Everything has to be GitOps. I automate anything I can. Now, when something breaks, it does it in an elegant, observable, and traceable way.
I design disaster-recovery and business continuity systems that, in theory, should survive an alien invasion. In practice, I just hope they survive the next git push —force from the intern on Friday (kidding… pushing on Fridays is banned).
My mission is simple: ship projects, grow the team (with minimal psychological damage), and keep an aura of competence intact.
I collect acronyms and read very long documents so I can say "we're compliant," which is the corporate way of saying "the paperwork is fine — we'll see about the rest."
In the end, things work, the team puts up with me, and the company hasn't fired me yet. And that, folks, is the definition of success.
